Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern the provision of bird control services by DCC Commercial Cleaning LTD (trading as Bird Specialist).

1. Definitions

  • “We,” “us,” “our” — DCC Commercial Cleaning LTD, trading as Bird Specialist
  • “You,” “your” — the client commissioning our services
  • “Services” — bird control services including surveys, installations, cleaning, falconry, and maintenance
  • “Quote” — the written quotation we provide for the agreed scope of work

2. Surveys and Quotations

  • Surveys are provided free of charge with no obligation.
  • Quotations are valid for 30 days from issue unless otherwise stated.
  • Quotations are fixed-price for the described scope. Additional work is quoted separately.
  • We reserve the right to amend a quotation if site conditions have materially changed.

3. Acceptance and Commencement

A contract is formed when you accept our quotation in writing (including email) or verbally instruct us to proceed. Access to the property must be provided on the agreed date.

4. Pricing and Payment

  • All prices are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.
  • Domestic clients: Payment is due on completion of work.
  • Commercial clients: Payment terms are 30 days from invoice date unless otherwise agreed.
  • For projects over £5,000, stage payments may be required.

5. Guarantees and Warranties

  • Bird netting: 10-year guarantee covering materials and workmanship.
  • Bird spikes: Guarantee against material defects for the stated lifespan.
  • Solar panel mesh: Designed to last the lifetime of your panels. Guarantee against material defects and clip failure.
  • Guano removal: No guarantee against recontamination unless proofing is also installed.
  • Falconry: No guarantee of specific outcomes. Bird behaviour is variable.

Guarantee Conditions

Guarantees apply subject to: no third-party modification; reasonable maintenance; exclusion of storm damage, vandalism, and accidental damage; exclusion of structural movement.

6. Wildlife and Countryside Act Compliance

All work complies with the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If active nests are discovered during work, we will stop and advise on the legal position. We cannot guarantee the outcome of individual licence applications to Natural England.

7. Access and Working Conditions

You must provide safe access and inform us of any hazards, asbestos, or structural concerns. We carry our own insurance, PPE, and safety equipment.

8. Cancellation

  • Domestic: 14-day cooling-off period under Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
  • Commercial: As specified in contract.
  • Cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a re-scheduling fee.

9. Liability

We carry public liability insurance. Our liability is limited to the contract value. We are not liable for damage caused by birds before, during, or after our work except where directly attributable to our negligence.

10. Data Protection

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR.

11. Complaints

If you are not satisfied, contact us. We will investigate and respond within 10 working days.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
